FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

How can I secure my wedding date
in your diary?

I can secure a date in my diary on receipt of a 25% deposit.

How soon should I book a hair trial?

I recommend you have your hair trial 3 to 6 months before the wedding.

Which areas do you cover?

I live in Ponteland Newcastle upon Tyne, and I cover most areas of the North East, Northumberland and North Yorkshire, however, dependant on the distance and size of the booking, a travel charge may apply.

How long does the trial take?

The trial normally lasts around 1½ to 2 hours.

How long will it take for you to style our hair on the day?

This does vary, and with wedding hair styling I often use heated rollers which would be applied early in the morning and left in the hair for a while, so often I am actually working on 2 or 3 people's hair at the same time.

As a guide, I would allow 3 hours for 3 people which equates to approx 1 hour per person.

What happens if I decide to cancel my wedding hair booking?

You must notify me of cancellation in writing at least 2 months before your wedding otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% of the total cost will be charged.
Please note that deposits are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

What happens if you are ill on my wedding day?

With over 400 previous brides, I have never failed to turn up on the day, however, in the event of an illness I may be able to recommend an alternative wedding hair stylist to work with you in my absence, and you would be given a full refund including deposit.

How much experience do you have?

I have 12 years experience as a qualified hair stylist. I began working in a salon on Saturdays and school holidays and on leaving school I trained at John Gerards hairdressing college in Newcastle upon Tyne where I gained my city and guilds level 2 and 3 and I found my own flair in wedding hair design.

Since I set up my own wedding hair business back in October 2001 I have never looked back. I absolutely love my job and its great to meet up with so many new brides. I find my job very rewarding and am proud to say that I get lots of complimentary feedback.
